Mölnlycke Health Care AB and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively “Mölnlycke” or “We”) are committed to respecting your information.

This Privacy Notice explains who we are, how we collect, share and use personal information about you, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.  We recommend that you read this Privacy Notice in full to ensure you are fully informed. This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, disclose, store and otherwise process information that you provide to us through our public website: www.molnlycke.com and other affiliated websites (the “Sites”); when participating in our recruitment activities; or offline when participating in one of our events. We may process your personal information for carefully considered and specific purposes which are in our legitimate business purposes and, enable us to enhance our services and products, but which we believe also benefit our customers. In addition, this policy states how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of your personal information.

Information We Collect

Personal Information. When you visit Mölnlycke's Sites or participate in our events you may be asked to provide personal information.

Personal information 

refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as a name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and other personal information (““Personal Information”). We do not collect or process special categories of personal information which refers to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health and sex life or sexual orientation.

We collect Personal Information about you only as necessary for our legitimate business purposes, to respond to your inquiries, to improve our Sites, supply requested information on Mölnlycke's products and, to provide information that may be of interest to you.

Information That is Passively or Automatically Collected.

When you visit the Sites, we automatically collect and analyze certain information about your use of the Sites and the device you used to access the Sites.

This information includes your IP address, information about your browser type and language, the date and time you are accessing our Sites, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us, and the referring website address.

Use of cookies and other technologies.

We use various technologies to collect information about your activities on our Sites.

Cookies.

When you visit our Sites, we may assign your computer one or more "cookies." A cookie is a small text file containing information that We can read later to facilitate your access to our Sites and personalize your online experience. For example, whenever you sign into our Sites, we will record your user ID (and password, if you check the “Save this password for automatic sign in box”) in a cookie on your computer. We may also use cookies to collect information about your activity on our Sites, such as the pages you visit, links you click, and searches you conduct. Other Technologies.

We also use standard Internet technologies, such as web beacons (also called clear GIFs or pixel tags), locally stored objects (often referred to as “flash cookies”) and other similar technologies, to deliver or communicate with cookies and track your use of our Sites. We also include web beacons in e-mail messages or newsletters to track whether you open the messages. We use this information to customize our services and measure the overall effectiveness of our online content, advertising campaigns, and products and services we offer through the Sites. Flash cookies operate differently than browser cookies, and cookie management tools available in a web browser will not remove flash cookies.

Information Collected by Third Parties.

Third parties, such as vendors, advertising entities, and business partners, may use cookies and other technologies described above to collect information about your online activities. The purposes for collecting this information include measuring usage of our Sites and analyzing, modifying, and personalizing content on our Sites. We do not have access to or control over cookies or other features these third parties may use, and the information practices of these third parties are not covered by this Privacy Policy. Recruitment

We collect information from and about candidates in connection with available employment opportunities at Mölnlycke.  This information may include CVs, identification documents, academic records, work history, employment and references.  

We use your personal information to match your skills, experience and education with the specific roles available.  This information is passed to the relevant hiring managers and persons involved in the recruitment process to decide whether to invite you for interview.  We will collect further information from you if you are invited to the interview (or equivalent) stage and onwards. We may also use your personal information to communicate with you during the recruitment process, verify your information, put in place necessary arrangements for your future employment and to generally manage and improve our recruitment and hiring processes.

In connection with our recruitment activities, we may also collect special categories of personal information from candidates where we have an employment law obligation to do so, the information is relevant to their future working environment at Mölnlycke or the future provision of employment benefits, or with the individual's explicit consent.  For example, we may need to collect information about a candidate's disabilities in order to provide a suitable working environment for that candidate if they are successful in their application.  We may also need to conduct criminal background checks for some candidates, to assess their eligibility to work at Mölnlycke.  We may also ask you to provide diversity information about your race/ethnicity and sexual orientation for diversity monitoring purposes, although the provision of this information will be entirely voluntary.

We may collect personal information about candidates from the following sources:

Directly from you – for example, information that you have provided when applying for a position directly through our recruitment website;

From recruitment agencies – for example, when a recruitment agency contacts us to identify you as a potential candidate;

Through publicly available sources online – for example, where you have a professional profile posted online (e.g. on your current employer's website, or on a professional networking site like LinkedIn); and

By reference or word of mouth – for example, through a referred from former employee/employer or from a referee you have identified.

If you are from the European Union, the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is the legitimate interests of Mölnlycke (to carry out recruitment and to manage the hiring process), and/or where you are considered for employment, to take steps prior to entering an employment contract with you.  We may also use your personal data to comply with applicable laws and regulations, or to protect the rights and interests of Mölnlycke, our employees, applicants and others, as required and permitted by applicable law.

If you are accepted for a position, the information collected during the recruitment process will form part of your ongoing employment record.

If you are not successful, we may still keep your application for 12 months to allow us to consider you for other suitable openings in the future, If you do not want us to retain this information, please contact us using the contact details below. We may, however, retain the information if required by law.

Compliance Helpline

A Compliance helpline is provided to employees and externals to report genuine concerns regarding a potential violation of laws, regulations, internal rules or Mölnlycke’s Code of Conduct.

We collect and process your personal data in order to manage the reported events derived from the commission of irregularities or acts contrary to ethics, legality or corporate standards, as well as to carry out any necessary actions for the investigation of the reported facts, including, where appropriate, disciplinary or legal measures that may be applicable.

Your personal data will be processed in the strictest confidence and it will not be used for any purpose other than those indicated above. In particular, if you are eventually identified as the person who has brought any facts to Mölnlycke’s attention, Mölnlycke guarantees that your identification will remain confidential. 

Your personal data may be communicated to any Mölnlycke’s subsidiary, authorized third parties and authorities, in order to carry out, where appropriate, the required investigation tasks.

In addition, your personal data may be communicated to other recipients when necessary for the adoption of disciplinary measures or for the processing of any legal proceedings.

In no case will Mölnlycke carry out automated decisions based on your personal data provided through the whistleblowing channel.

We retain your personal data in the whistleblowing system only for as long as is necessary to decide on the appropriateness of initiating an investigation into the reported events.

How We Use Information We Collect

We collect and process your information for certain purposes, which include some of the following:

  • to respond to your inquiries;
  • to improve our Sites;
  • to supply you with requested information on you products;
  • to provide information that may be of interest to you;
  • to support our business functions, such as fraud prevention and legal functions;
  • to engage in market research and analysis in order to protect and improve our products and services, as well as develop new products and services;
  • to communicate with you about educational opportunities, events, marketing and promotions , etc. you will, however, always have the right to opt out from receiving such requests;
  • to help us personalize our websites, mobile services, and advertising;
  • to comply with legal and or regulatory requirements;
  • to address and investigate product complaints; and
  • to enforce the legal terms (including without limitation our policies and terms of service) that govern your use of our services, and/or for the purposes for which you provided the Information.

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information

Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. 

However, we will normally collect personal information from you only where we have your consent to do so, where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to process personal information about you, or may need to process personal information in order to exercise, establish or defend legal claims.

If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not (as well as the possible consequences, if any,  if you do not provide your personal information).

Choices About Your Information

We believe that it is important to give you choices about the use of your information. We will use your information as described in this Policy or any service-specific privacy or data protection notice. If We want to use your information for a purpose not described in this Policy, We will first obtain your consent to do so. 

Marketing Communications: We will respect your wishes not to receive, or to stop receiving, marketing communications. You can change your marketing preferences by contacting us as described below. If you provided us with your email address in order to receive such communications, you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe links or instructions at the bottom of our emails. Please note that We will continue to send you product related communications which We are regulatorily obliged to communicate with you regardless of any such request regardless of any such request. We will not share or sell your information and personal details with third parties (for the avoidance of doubt, other than to Mölnlycke affiliates) for their own promotional or marketing purposes unless you give us consent to do so and where permitted by applicable laws and regulations. 

California Online Privacy Protection Act Notice Concerning Do Not Track Signals: Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in certain web browsers. We donot recognize or respond to browser-initiated DNT signals. To learn more about DNT, you can do so here.

Data Retention and Storage

We retain your information for business purposes, for as long as is necessary to provide you with our products and services.

When you provide personal information within market research and analysis , including via questionnaires, we shall retain your personal information for 3 years, since the last contact we had with you.   

We will also retain your information as reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. We may also retain cached or archived copies of your information for a reasonable period of time. At any point in time, you can withdraw consent you may have given and we will stop processing your data unless there is another legitimate interest and/or legal requirement for Mölnlycke to retain the information as outlined above.

Disclosure of Information

We may share your information with third-party companies or individuals in the following instances:

When We engage service providers and third-party agents to process personal information on our behalf. When We do so, We contractually require these service providers to implement adequate security and privacy measures to help ensure that your personal information will be appropriately protected and only used for the purposes of performing the services for us.

In response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process (including for national security and law enforcement purposes); to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law and/or government authorities. In such cases We reserve the right to raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us.

When We believe it is appropriate to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or suspected illegal activities; to protect and defend the justified rights, property, or safety of Mölnlycke or our affiliates, our customers, or others; and in connection with our Terms of Use and other agreements.

In connection with a corporate transaction, such as a divestiture, merger, consolidation, or asset sale, including any pre-transaction diligence, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.

In connection with a job application or inquiry, you may provide us with data about yourself, including your educational background or resume and other information, including your ethnicity where required or permitted by law. We may use this information throughout Mölnlycke, its affiliates, and its joint ventures for the purpose of employment consideration. We also may share aggregate or anonymous information with third parties, including advertisers, investors, and partners. Aggregate or anonymous information does not contain any personal information and its use and disclosure is not subject to the terms of this Policy.

International Transfers of Your Information

To facilitate our global operations, We may transfer personal data from your home country to other Mölnlycke locations across the world. Depending on your country of residence, the submission of information to our Sites may involve the transfer of such information to the United States and other third party jurisdictions outside the European Economic Area. 

In addition, We may transfer information to our subsidiaries or affiliated companies and service providers and/or third party agents in various countries, including European Union Member States, United States, for certain processing operations. You should be aware that privacy laws in some these countries may not provide protections equivalent to those of your country of residence. In case of such transfer, We ensure that personal data are processed in compliance with the Privacy Notice and with respect of signing contractual clauses, on a case-by-case basis, based on the European Commission template,  which guarantee a sufficient level of protection.

Access to your information/ Your privacy rights

You may request access to any certain information that We hold about you, ask us to correct certain information which may be inaccurate, and/or ask us to block or delete such information and object to the processing of personal data except where the law requires otherwise.

You may also exercise your right to data portability, i.e. your right to receive personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine readable forma, and the right to request that we transmit this data directly to another controller.

Furthermore, you have the legal right to decide what happens to your personal data in the case of death.

California Residents. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information (as defined by this law) to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

To protect your privacy, We will require you to prove your identity before granting access to, or agreeing to update, correct or delete your Personal Information and we will only implement requests with respect to Personal Information about you (not anyone else).

Information Security

We use physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to help prevent unauthorized access, to maintain data security, and to use correctly the Information We collect online. These safeguards vary based on the sensitivity of the Information that We collect and store. 

Although We take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of Information, we cannot assure you that Information will never be disclosed, altered or destroyed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Policy.

Other Websites

To provide increased value to you, We may provide links to other websites or resources that are not part of the network of programs, products, or services provided by Mölnlycke or our affiliates. We do not exercise control over these websites or their privacy practices, and any information you provide to those sites is subject to the privacy policies of those sites and not this Policy.

Collection of Information from Children

Our Sites contain business-related content and are specifically aimed at and designed for use by adults. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information (as defined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) from or about individuals under the age of eighteen (18) years.

This Policy may change from time to time. If We make any changes to this Policy, We will post any Policy changes on this page. Where We make any material changes to this Policy, We will provide a more prominent notice.
